O.K. So I'm a Procrastinator... (a Quick & Inexpensive Teacher's Gift)

Friday, December 17, 2010

I didn't put two and two together that today is the last day of school before Christmas break.  I knew I wanted to get my kids' teachers a little something (I couldn't get their book marks in time like I had planned so I'll have to do that for their end of year gifts instead.)

So at about 10 p.m. last night I decided I should probably go to the store and get them something.  For less than $4.00 I was able to make these gifts (of course that is because I use to be big-time into scrapbooking and had all of the embellishments, paper and wrapping supplies on hand.)

A tile with an initial represents each of their last names.

An hour later I had these 3 homemade gifts ready to go!  Who doesn't like to have a little scratch paper on hand in a stylish notebook?  I know I do.

Happy Holidays!

  2. I had given each of the teachers (and my kids' counselor) a "tiny treats" bag by happy zombie with various candies inside plus a small gift certificate. My kid's last day of school was yesterday. I love your idea though! I might have to "borrow" it for the end of the year gifties.

  3. Amber, you did GREAT!!! A terrific idea and the teachers will be so touched that it is hand made...we all know gifts from hand and heart are the best! As for the decorative supplies, I don't have any because I am not a scrapbooker but I could have tried to whip up something fun with fabric. Fortunately, I don't have to do the teacher gift thing anymore. After raising my girls and then my grandsons, I'm happy to sit back, relax and watch the other parents treat the precious teachers that give so much of their selves to our children. Well done! Hugs...

  4. Nothing better than a homemade gift!! The colors are gorgeous and I think the letter embellishment is so cute! My daughter makes her own notebooks for many of her subjects now that she is older. Love this idea. Is the spiral covered with rick-rack? Thanks for sharing~
